LensAlert! started as a simple idea to solve a personal problem. John O'Hara of the Watch Dog Group, LC, was in his eye doctor's exam room being fitted for a new pair of contact lenses when the doctor's assistant told him that he needed to start throwing away his contact lens case on a regular basis. She explained that contact lens cases were hotbeds for nasty little organisms that could cause serious eye infections.

Reason enough. But John couldn't keep track of his 14-Day lens schedule let alone keeping track of his lens case. His logical question to the doctor's assistant was, "Do you sell a timer that can keep track of both things for me?" Her answer was, "No, but that's a great idea."

Over a year of hard work later, and LensAlert! was introduced at a prestigious meeting of the country's leading contact lens professionals. The introduction was a huge success.
